Today I’m five months old. Mummy and Daddy were saying that it seems longer than five months since I’ve been around. In fact, they feel as if I’ve been part of their lives forever. In a nice way!

To celebrate the occasion, yesterday I was taken to the doctor’s for my five month check up. As a special treat I was only given one inoculation instead of the normal two!

The doctor was very pleased with my progress and development and pronounced me a healthy baby.

I now weigh 9.3 kg (20.5 lbs) and am 69.5 cm (27.36 inches or 2’3”) tall.

One thing that Mummy and Daddy have noticed over the last couple of weeks is just how fast I seem to have developed. All of a sudden I seemed to have taken more interest in my surroundings and I want to grab everything within reach. All of my toys have taken on a new meaning. Mummy or Daddy used to press the buttons to make my Musical Play Garden work but now I can do it for myself. My Baby Cocoon that I got for Christmas was a place for me to lie in but now I can touch and kick the ball myself. I really like hitting the ball. Mummy says I “give it beans.”

Mummy and my doctor were talking about how much I’ve developed. The doctor said that this is about the time when most daddies start to show an interest in their baby as they are actually doing things other than eating, sleeping and pooing. I’m lucky; Daddy has always shown an interest in me.
