Sickness in the house

December 7th, 2006 · 1 Comment

We’re not happy bunnies at the moment in our house! It started Monday when Daddy seemed to be getting a cold. Now it’s Thursday and Mummy has a cold while Daddy still isn’t 100%. They’re walking around with funny blue face masks on every time they come near me - the first time I didn’t even recognise them. Mummy was washing her hands before picking me up but then she remembered the wonderful ‘kill germs without washing’ stuff that she bought in America. Now she’s keeping a little bottle of that next to her so she can go to me immediately if I need her. So far I’m okay but they worry over every little noise I make, i.e. was that a cough, a sneeze, am I running a fever? I’m not spending as much time with them at the moment as I’d like but I understand that it’s for my own good.

We’ll have to see how it goes but so far I am okay. I know Mummy is having a bit of a hard time because at first she felt a bit guilty that she couldn’t look after Daddy because she had to look after me, and now she’s feeling a bunged up and icky but there’s no rest from feeding greedy little me. And of course she wanted an early night and I just wouldn’t sleep. Oh dear. Oh, and she can’t take any cold medicine because she’s still breastfeeding. But Daddy has just been out to get her soft tissues, so she’s a little happier.

I’ll let Mummy or Daddy post if I get sick, but I hope that all their attempts to avoid giving this thing to me will pay off. Having a cold certainly doesn’t sound like much fun!

Until next time, bye bye
