Mummy and Daddy took me for my two month check up today and I can’t say that I had a particularly enjoyable time of it.
First of all my appointment was at 12:00. We got there early in case I needed feeding and changing and sure enough both were required and administered. We then waited. And waited. And waited some more. I didn’t mind too much because I fell asleep but poor Daddy was holding me so his arms were getting tired and his tummy was making some really funny noises as it was way past his lunchtime. We saw the doctor at 1:10.
First of all things went well. The doctor apologised so much for the delay and she asked Mummy and Daddy some questions. Then it started going downhill.
I was put on the table, stripped and then prodded all over. I didn’t like that. Then the doctor stuck things in my ears and mouth to look at them. I didn’t like that either. I was weighed and measured. By this time I was having a bad day so I wasn’t too keen on that either.
Then a nurse came into the room with a trolley and things got decidedly worse. She held my legs whilst the doctor stuck a really big needle (big to a baby anyway) in my left thigh. Well I tell you, I REALLY didn’t like that and let everyone in the room, building and street know my displeasure. Then blow me if the doctor didn’t get another needle and stick it in my other thigh. Here you had one unhappy baby.
The next thing I knew it was all over and I was getting snuggles from Mummy. The nurse was standing over me so I weed on her! That’ll teach her.
Apparently I was having the first of quite a few inoculations. I can’t remember what I had today but I know I’m going to have some more. Can’t say I’m looking forward to that.
The doctor was very happy with my progress. I weigh 6.8 Kg and measure 61.5 Cm which is very big for my age. As I’m a breastfed baby the doctor said there was absolutely nothing wrong with my weight – I won’t have a problem with obesity later on. The doctor said that I might suffer some soreness because of my injections and may become grumpy and get a slight fever. She wrote a prescription for the fever just in case.
After the doctor’s we went to Auntie Margaret’s for lunch. Daddy ate too many profiteroles for his own good and I had some milk and a snooze.
These injections haven’t made me grumpy – yet, just very sleepy but as you can see from the second picture I’m now a happy chappy.
Until next time, bye bye.

[...] I can hold my head up a lot longer than I used to and I’ve started standing up and splashing about in my Tummy Tub. Daddy does standing up exercises with me almost every day and I’m so proud of myself when I manage to stand up. Daddy’s holding me up, of course, but I push myself up and I’m a standing boy. I’ve got a lot more strength in my back and neck and Mormor says my best position for pictures is when I’m over someone’s shoulder raising my head up. You can see in my last post what that looks like. [...]
