The Life of Matthew

After all the excitement of yesterday I had hoped that today might mean that things were finally happening, but so far it’s just another day. Don’t even have any exciting pains to talk about. Mummy’s been walking around with me almost all day, she even went to work for my sake (!), but I haven’t been able to reciprocate.

It’s all Mummy’s fault, anyway. She’s the one who’s made such a nice home for me in there that I don’t want to come out. How am I supposed to know what the world outside is like? I like my home at the moment; it’s warm and cosy and Mummy takes me with her everywhere and talks to me and pats me. So just try it! I’m not budging until I’m sure that things on the outside are going to be better. And that’s final!
