The Life of Matthew

Oh dear, not even born yet and already in trouble! I gave Mummy 5 hours of regular contractions today, every twenty or so minutes and occasionally increasing in strength, and now I’ve stopped. Guess it was only false labour. I’m still squirming around but I’m not trying to fight my way out. Looks like I got their hopes up for nothing. I hope I come soon, I’m starting to feel guilty about all this.

On the other hand I got some really great presents today - thank you so much to Miss Margaret! I got a baby monitor so that when I’m lying in my Amby Baby I can disturb Mummy and Daddy while they’re watching telly, a fluffy blue and pink bunny named after someone called John Lennon who apparently used to be some sort of insect, and a baby book for Mummy and Daddy to record all the particulars of my early life. The bunny has funny ears that are supposed to enhance my tactile experience which apparently is good for my development.

All in all a mixed day - I also made Mummy feel nauseous for most of the morning. So big thank yous to Margaret and big sorries to Mummy and Daddy.
