I’m wondering a lot about how life will change once I make it to the outside. All the things I’m doing at the moment are things that I can’t see, I can only hear and feel as I bounce around inside Mummy, slowly making my way down.
I don’t like the long period where nothing happens, the time when Mummy’s lying down and nobody’s talking. I suppose she’s sleeping. That’s what I try to do at that time. I like it when she wakes up because the room is nice and cool and she and Daddy stay in bed talking. Once I hear that I wake up too. They’re not going to leave me out!
Not long after that I get food. Mummy always eats the same thing in morning, and sometimes from the inside I hear it making funny snap, crackle and pop noises. She doesn’t say anything while she’s eating, I think it’s because she’s reading. I know that after breakfast there’s a lot of moving around and moaning about dog hairs. I’m not sure what a dog is but Mummy and Daddy have one. I just know it’s something that moves around the house and that Daddy takes for walks on his own because dogs walk fast and this hurts Mummy.
While Daddy is out Mummy gets ready for her day at work. She checks her emails, complains about SPAM and organises everything she needs to do that day. Not long after Daddy gets back Mummy and I will go out. I don’t know where we go but when we see people she doesn’t speak to them like she does to Daddy - I can’t recognise any of the sounds she makes. I like it when we’re together in the car because Mummy sings to me. She always sings the same song and she pats me while she sings it. Sometimes she rubs me. I like that, too.
One of my favourite parts of the day is when we go over to Mormor’s house. Mormor is Mummy’s mummy. We go there every day and the three of us go for a swim. We do strange exercises in the water with long, foam poles and I feel cool and light like I’m floating. Afterwards we have juice and talk about me and what I’m doing. I like teasing Mormor by keeping quiet when she’s trying to feel me kick. Ha ha.
Later in the day we have more food at home with Daddy and Mummy goes back to her computer. We all snooze for a little while in the afternoon, then Mummy groans when Daddy asks her what she wants for dinner. Mummy has lost interest in food again and doesn’t like cooking anymore, even though she loves her new kitchen in the new house we’ve just moved to. She really wants to bake cakes and cookies but is resisting the impulse even though I’d love some M&M cookies. I really like the time during the day when Mummy sits quietly and rubs and talks to me.
Sometimes Mummy and Daddy agree on something to eat, although usually Mummy will eat on her own because normal food makes her feel nauseous. Daddy needs his proper food but he’s been really good at following Mummy’s weird cravings and aversions. She eats a lot of melon and drinks a lot of milk. Then it’s time for her walk. Since the doctor said she has to walk to get me to move down she and Daddy have been going for longs walks in the evening. The first day they walked 2.5km, yesterday they walked 2km and played mini-golf. Mummy says it’s the only game she can beat Daddy at. I think I might have got in her way a little but she still won!
The day always seems to finish in front of the telly with a cup of tea and maybe a little chocolate. I like chocolate. Then Mummy and Daddy take their books to bed. I think they like reading. Mummy has trouble getting in and out of bed. It’s my fault because I’m so big now. She says she doesn’t mind and she always rubs me so I know it’s okay.
I can’t wait to be part of all this. I wonder if we’ll still go to Mormor’s every day and swim. I wonder if I’ll be going out with Mummy to work or if we’ll all stay home with Daddy. I wonder what Mummy and Daddy actually do. And I want to see what a dog is. I’m supposed to be here in 2 weeks. I know Mummy is getting very tired now and I know I’m hurting her. Although from what I’ve heard, I’m going to be doing a lot worse before I show up. Sorry!
Until next time, bye bye.
